Dr. Popowych is a licensed clinical audiologist with over 36 years of experience working with children and adults experiencing hearing loss and communication challenges. She obtained her Master of Science degree in clinical audiology at Rush Presbyterian St.Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, and her Doctorate degree in audiology at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Daria Popowych completed her clinical fellowship at the Chicago Hearing Society and served as co-director of the audiology department there.
She established an Assistive Device Center where individuals with hearing and speech disorders could visit with the audiologist and obtain firsthand experience with life changing devices that could improve the quality of their life.
Dr. Popowych became a co-founder of North Side Audiology Group, a private audiology practice established to provide comprehensive, scientifically based assessments and treatment in a compassionate environment. While working at North Side Audiology Group, she provided audiology services at St. Joseph’s hospital, St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital, the Department of Public Health in Chicago and at otolaryngology practices in the Chicago and suburban area.
Dr. Popowych is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the American Academy of Audiology, the Cochlear Implant Provider Network and the Illinois Academy of Audiology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association, a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the profession of audiology.
Dr. Daria Popowych’s professional mission is to provide supportive patient centered care during the initial diagnosis of hearing loss and throughout the rehabilitative process. She cares deeply about supporting patients and works hard to be an empowering force in the patient communication journey.
Areas of interest include the evaluation and management of longstanding hearing loss, hearing rehabilitation, hearing protection and tinnitus. Dr. Popowych believes that by teaming with an audiologist, patients can make hearing health decisions that will improve their overall well- being.
