Why is a comprehensive hearing examination so important: As your ears gradually change, so can your hearing and communication needs. That’s why regular hearing evaluations are so vital to your wellbeing.
What to expect during your hearing aid evaluation appointment: During this visit, the audiologist will provide testing in order to select the most appropriate hearing aids for you.
Once you have selected your hearing aids after an evaluation, your hearing professional will program them, based on a prescription, to meet your hearing needs. The hearing professional will explain how to use the devices, how to put them in the ear and how to remove them, how to change batteries and how to care for and clean the devices.
Hearing aids have small working parts, and it is not uncommon over time for a hearing aid to need a repair. You may try to turn the hearing aid on in the morning and find that there is no sound; the battery door may come unhinged. These things do happen, even when the hearing aids are properly cared for.
Save MONEY, TIME and POSTAGE by enrolling in our program. Our batteries are shipped directly from the manufacturer and are guaranteed to be fresh and of the highest quality.
Live speech mapping is truly a wonderful new technology for audiologists, the hearing-impaired individual, and their families alike. Contact your audiologist to find out how live speech mapping can provide you with a more enjoyable hearing aid experience.
Tinnitus is a perception that can be described as a ringing, whistling, hissing, roaring, humming, buzzing or clicking sound. It can occur in one ear, both ears or in the head and can be acute or chronic. A tinnitus evaluation can be useful to document its presence and guide/monitor progress with management options.
Cochlear implants are often a next solution for our patients when their hearing aids are not providing enough assistance. Many people start by wearing two hearing aids. However, as hearing loss progresses, you may need something more.
Custom Hearing Protection, also known as earmolds, can be custom made to fit your unique ear shape. It's important that you work with someone who is experienced and trained in making impressions for high-quality earmolds.
